Declaration of Dependence | Pr. Boris Y Reyes | San Antonio Highland Hills Seventh-day Adventist

Independence is often celebrated as the ultimate goal. We admire the ability to stand on our own, solve our own problems, and depend on no one. Yet in Matthew 6:25, Jesus presents a completely different way of living. Instead of inviting us to carry the weight of tomorrow, He calls us to trust the Father who already knows our every need. What the world often sees as weakness, heaven reveals as the beginning of true freedom. Declaration of Dependence explores the surprising freedom that comes from surrendering control to God. Worry loses its grip when faith takes its place. Peace begins to replace anxiety when we remember that our lives are held by a faithful Father who neither forgets nor forsakes His children. Jesus' words in Matthew 6:25 are not simply a command to stop worrying; they are an invitation to know the heart of the One who promises to provide. "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life..." (Matthew 6:25, NKJV). We pray this message strengthens your faith, encourages your walk with Christ, and reminds you that the safest place to be is in complete dependence upon Him. If this message is a blessing to you, consider sharing it with someone who needs this reminder today.
