Finding a Back Door into Yellowstone
A horse packing adventure into the North Absaroka Wilderness and Yellowstone Park. A group of 4 men, 2 outfitters and a cook from Alaska traveled up the North Fork of the Shoshone River over the pass into Lamar River drainage. Exploring the back country by horse back, we then rode over Mist Creek Pass into Pelican Basin just east of Yellowstone Lake. Our goal was to find a back door into Yellowstone, we did do just that. Along our journey we traveled in three river drainages, saw unbelievable mountain country, did some fishing and learned some history.
