Slowing Down in Santa Cruz on Vision3 500T | Mamiya C3
I had a few borrowed hours on the Santa Cruz coast before photographing a wedding in the redwoods, so I took my Mamiya C3 to Natural Bridges and Pigeon Point with two rolls of REFLX 500T. This was my first time shooting REFLX 500T, REFLX Lab’s respooled 120 version of Kodak Vision3 500T cinema film. One roll went through Natural Bridges, the second through Pigeon Point, and the scans came back with bizarre sprocket-like edges that made the images feel strange, cinematic, and a little untethered in the best way. In this video I share a quiet morning on the California coast, the photowalk, the beach and lighthouse footage, and all 24 frames from the two rolls of film.
