This is the future! Or the past. Or something. It's good anyway. Pure image making. This is the Boxx

If you've been wanting to give black and white paper reversal a go, now's your chance! Introducing the BOXX from Alfie Cameras. It's on Kickstarter right now: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/... You might remember quite a while ago I did a video about the Tych from Alfie Cameras? That was a pocket sized half frame camera shooting on 35mm film. I think it was reasonably successful for the big man of Alfie Cameras, Mr Dave Faulkner, and I enjoyed using it. But I don't think any of us were convinced about it fitting in with what I enjoy. Welp, Dave has flipped that on its head. This is absolutely my jam. The BOXX is designed to shoot on paper, with a developing cartridge, like the Minutero from Stenopeika, to allow you to develop right there and then. No darkroom! You take your Boxx, compose and focus on the ground glass, insert the film holder / portable darkroom, take your image, then you go through the BW paper reversal process - dev, bleach, clarifier, re-expose, dev - and you watch as your positive image emerges from the blank paper right in front of you. SO. COOL. The Boxx is on Kickstarter right now, but as usual, it's taken me that long to get this video out that it has already reached its goal. Well done Dave! Go back it anyway, not because you want to help it reach its goal, but because you NEED one of these in your collection. It comes with everything you need to get started, paper, chems, etc. It's not point and shoot, it takes more involvement than that. But it's SO worth it. Go back it, it's not that expensive, and then give BW paper reversal a go. And make sure you share your results!
