$1,300 Olds 455 Revival! Will It Run?

We dragged home another forgotten old car, and this one has a little surprise hiding under the hood. This 1969 Oldsmobile Delta 88 has been sitting for around 25 years, but it still has its Olds 455 big block and transmission sitting right where they belong. The plan? See if this old Delta 88 will run, move under its own power, and maybe even do a little ranch driving before we pull the drivetrain for a future project. This thing fought us with old fuel lines, mystery oil smoke, coolant leaks, bad tires, sketchy wiring, and plenty of rusty surprises, but the old 455 had other ideas. For $1,300, I figured I was buying a motor and transmission. Turns out, we may have bought a whole lot more entertainment than that. And yes, this Olds 455 has a future. The plan is to freshen it up, cam it, gasket it, and eventually build it into a single turbo Oldsmobile 455 for our 1974 Oldsmobile Omega project. Will it run after 25 years? Will it drive? Will it catch fire before it makes it across the property? Let’s find out. Thanks for watching Full Blast Garage.
