Is it dangerous to travel in El Salvador?
I traveled a month in El Salvador by motorcycle, and the tiny country in Central America really surprised me. In this motorcycle travel vlog, Quinten and I spend a month exploring El Salvador, riding through volcanoes, colonial towns, mountain roads and hidden lagoons as part of our journey across the Americas by motorcycle. For years, El Salvador was known as one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Today, travelers are returning and many Salvadorans speak proudly about the dramatic changes their country has experienced. But behind the stunning landscapes, warm hospitality and growing tourism lies a much more complex story. During our month in El Salvador, we explore Santa Ana, hike the Santa Ana Volcano, climb the famous Seven Waterfalls, discover abandoned places, camp beside volcanic lakes, search for a yellow fever vaccine in San Miguel and spend time in the mountain town of Alegría. Along the way, we try to understand a country whose reputation seems increasingly disconnected from the reality we experienced on the road. -- 📍 Locations featured in this episode: Cerro Verde National Park Santa Ana Ilamatepec Volcano Seven Waterfalls Hike Suchitoto San Miguel Alegría Top Pick for Accommodation in Santa Ana: https://www.airbnb.mx/rooms/127336160... -- About our journey: In June 2024, we left Canada on our Royal Enfield Himalayans with a simple goal: ride from the Arctic Ocean to Patagonia. After reaching Tuktoyaktuk, on the Arctic Ocean, we turned south and began making our way through the Americas. This channel documents that adventure: the people we meet, the challenges we face, the places we discover and the questions that travel raises along the way. -- Watch the full story of our journey from Canada to Mexico: • I rode my motorcycle from the Artic to Mexico And if you want to support my work on YouTube, this journey and have access to an exclusive video every month, join the community on Patreon: / leanarre Buy me a coffee: / shop Follow the journey on Instagram: / leanarre -- Motorcycles: Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 (2021) Bags: Motobags, overlander and minibags by Lone Rider - https://www.lonerider-motorcycle.com/ Tent: the ADV tent by Lone Rider - https://www.lonerider-motorcycle.com/...
