We finally have safe water... But AIMA did this

After months of living on our Portuguese quinta, we finally tackle a problem we've been putting off for far too long – making our water safe to drink. This week we install a UV water sanitisation system in the RV, bringing us one step closer to comfortable off-grid living and finally giving us potable drinking water straight from our system. But not everything goes to plan... We also travel to our long-awaited AIMA appointment, hoping to make progress on our Portuguese residency and visa process. After a four-hour wait, we discover a frustrating bureaucratic mix-up that leaves us exactly where we started. If you've ever dealt with Portuguese paperwork, you'll probably feel our pain! Back on the land, we focus on some much-needed maintenance. We clear invasive mimosa and overgrown weeds around the property, continue reducing fire risks during the hot Portuguese summer, and harvest another crop from the garden as we pull up our homegrown onions. Life renovating a ruined Portuguese quinta is never straightforward, but every challenge gets us one step closer to creating our dream homestead.
