Progression of Helene | Green Mtn NC 2024 #hurricane #appalachia

This is documented events that unfolded starting 9/26/24 through 9/28/24. This is before, during and after Helene tore through western nc. All events were based off of knowledge that I heard from a scanner, and locals, and from what we had observed. Things unfolded pretty quickly the morning of 9/27/24! We didn’t know the level of chaos this had caused until we went out looking for gas and generators. This was definitely a time of uncertainty, due to cell towers being down, we had no communication unless we walked or drove somewhere and spoke in person. This event was one for the history books!
