Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Heritage and Tourism
The Bachelor’s Degree Course in Cultural Heritage and Tourism is a program with a distinguished tradition in research and education, being one of the first courses established at the University of Foggia. Successful alumni of the program currently hold prestigious positions both in Italy and abroad. The course offers a comprehensive academic programme designed to educate experts in the field of cultural heritage, and in archaeology in particular. The programme combines in-depth training in the humanities with multidisciplinary skills focused on the preservation, promotion and communication of both tangible and intangible heritage. The archaeological curriculum, in particular, places an emphasis on the understanding and conservation of historical artefacts. The course combines the study of ancient civilisations, history and archaeological methodologies with the use of advanced digital technologies. A distinctive feature of the course is its integration of solid theoretical knowledge with practical field experience: students have the opportunity to take part in numerous excavation and survey projects, both on land and underwater, in Italy and Greece. This practical experience is supported by the University of Foggia’s well-equipped archaeology laboratories, where students can gain first-hand experience by directly studying archaeological finds.
