VERTRIEBEN - Erinnerungen von Hannelore Neumann, Teil 2

In the second part of the film, Hannelore Neumann recounts her escape from East Germany and her subsequent new beginning in West Germany. She started a new life in Frankfurt: she found work, built a career, and later started a family. Despite this outward stability, the question of her origins remained a central theme in her life. For many years, she worked intensively to clarify her family roots, initially with the support of official tracing services and later through her own research. This film is part of the YouTube series "Expellee Stories," a project of the Federation of Expellees (BdV) Hesse State Association in cooperation with filmmaker Harald Kuntze. The series is funded by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, Security and Homeland Security. © 2026 Federation of Expellees – Hesse State Association
