English Discover Korea's Authentic Countryside Charm! Join us for a heartwarming journey to a lively Korean countryside market! We woke up bright and early to explore the bustling stalls, soaking in the friendly atmosphere and tasting delicious freshly-made street snacks. We indulged in kids' favorites like sotteok-sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers), hot-from-the-fryer donuts, sweet yeonggwa (puffed rice cakes), and even juicy Seongju melons. This traditional market truly is a foodie's paradise! As dusk approached, we headed straight to the fields to forage for fresh spring naengi (shepherd's purse). We had to hurry to pick them before they bloomed, as they lose their tender flavor! The very next morning, our culinary adventure culminated! We cooked up a spicy, savory, and aromatic gopchang naengi jeongol (intestine and shepherd's purse hot pot) – made with aged kimchi and fragrant spring naengi. Our whole family gathered around to enjoy this warm, healthy, and incredibly flavorful breakfast feast.
