Link for Part 2 of the Shipwrecks in Recife [   • PARTE 2 — Naufrágios de Recife - PE: Phoen...  ] In this first part of the trip, we return to a place that has been part of my imagination since 2008, when I was still a diving student listening to stories about the shipwrecks of the Northeast. Now, almost two decades later, the trip happens with another type of maturity: calmer, more technical, and surrounded by friends who give meaning to each descent. There were three shipwrecks on the very first day — Taurus, Virgo, and Pirapama — each with its history, its cargo, and its own beauty. Recife does not hold the title of "Brazilian capital of shipwrecks" by chance. It is the result of continuous and very well-planned work in creating artificial reefs, which today sustain life, drive underwater tourism, and help tell part of the countrys maritime history. Our partner in this operation was JeDivers, an experienced, structured team composed of people who truly live the sea. We had the safe and competent guidance of Captain George, a legendary diver and sailor in the region, who holds enough stories to fill an entire book. Dinner was at Mio do Sertao, a typical Paraiba restaurant with excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and that homemade flavor that only regional cuisine delivers. Mio do Sertao:   / miodosertao   Part 1 brings exactly that: a reunion with old stories, a dive into artificial reefs that today are true sanctuaries, and the strength of a group of friends who travel to the sea seeking what it always returns — simplicity, life, and perspective.
