Pascal was a very strange genius in human history. He was a genius in mathematics and science, a master of prose, an extraordinary psychologist, and a suffering soul who was thirsty for God. He could have been the greatest mathematician in human history, but he loved God more than math. So he may have ruined his life that could have been much greater. Because the vast number of notes that he wrote to defend Christianity are only useful as philosophical books that extrapolate the conditions of human existence today, but not read the Bible of Christians. When he was 12 years old, he solved the 32nd proposition of Euclidean geometry by himself. I found it while playing in circles and lines by myself, and I never learned math. At the age of 17, he published the Cone Curve Theory, which has been praised as a great achievement since Archimedes, and at the age of 18, he invented a calculator to provide a fundamental idea that leads to computers today. He was also inspired by the gamblers' dice-throwing, and created a probability theory. Pascal, who had a wide range of inquiring minds, from pure geometry to practical science, had two major obstacles. They are health issues and remorse. If the health problem was an external disorder, his mind was close to an internal disorder. It was because he gave up studies and studies that could not be suppressed for a more faithful life to God's call and hung fiercely on religion. Pascal, who was suffering from hatred of real life and God's silence, feels God's grace in the heat of emotion and joy one night in November 1654. Here's the record he wrote on parchment that night. [Tears of joy, joy, joy, joy] [Full obedience to Jesus Christ]The following year, Pascal visited the monastery of Poruayal and spent two weeks praying and meditating, but did not hide in [the lonely grace]. He thought he had something to do for the people of this world. Meeting Arnaud, who was hiding there while staying in Porroial, he gets caught up in a whirlwind of controversy for the defense of the marketers. Pascal, not even a priest or theologian belonging to the church, jumped into the sharp theological debate of his time. The reason for this was that in 1656 Arnaud's Second Letter to a Duke was declared heretical for distrust, heresy, insults to the Pope and priests. At this point, Pascal publishes a series of writings in the form of letters to defend Arnaud and the Jangsenists. These are the Provenceals (letters to a local person) contained in the Fangs. At the time, Jansenism was in deep conflict with the Jesuits, who were closely attached to the Vatican, because they emphasized God's grace and predestination and asceticism in a kind of puritanical way, even within the Catholic Church. Pascal, who was at the forefront of a fierce theological debate with the Jesuits, prepares for a bigger fight. He decided to write a huge book to help him realize the misery of [Godless Man] and lead him to a blessed life with God's grace. Maybe this was the real reason Pascal didn't seclude himself from Porroial, which became the home of the generals. As his health deteriorates, Pascal concentrates on a pious, ascetic life, and is preoccupied with preparations for [Christianism]. But the masterpiece that Pascal had envisioned was unfinished. He ended his life early at the age of 39.
