CALAX FINAL Girder Installation - EB 4 Girder installation

Another milestone achieved for the Cavite Laguna Expressway as bridge contractor team CALAX - Leighton Contractors Asia Limited (LCAL) completes all bridge girder installations along the entire CALAX alignment. The final girder installation took place at Expressway Bridge 4 along Navarro Road Pasong Camachile in General Trias, Cavite. The operation was completed over two nights due to the positioning requirements of the lifting crane. Unlike previous tandem lifting operations, only a single crane was used during the installation. Before traffic could safely pass underneath, the lifting accessories and shackles first had to be fully removed to avoid possible accidents. A small fountain fireworks celebration was held during the installation of the second and final girder, symbolizing the completion of the last girder launching activity for CALAX. Apologies as well to affected motorists during the temporary traffic management implemented for the safety of both workers and the public. Stop and Go Traffic was implemented with the assistance of Barangay officials and PNP. With all Type 5 - eight girders now installed at Expressway Bridge 4, LCAL has officially completed girder installation works across the entire CALAX alignment, from Waterway Bridge 15 down to Waterway Bridge 1 and the various expressway bridges in between.
