A Tornado Warning Stopped My Route 66 Road Trip
In part 5 of this 6-part series what started as a peaceful drive down Historic Route 66 through Missouri quickly turned into the most unforgettable day of the trip. In this episode, we travel from St. Robert to Carthage, Missouri, following the Mother Road through some of the state's most interesting Route 66 communities and landmarks. Along the way, we explore downtown Waynesville and visit the historic Roubidoux Creek Bridge before continuing west to Marshfield for a look at the town's famous Hubble Space Telescope replica. After arriving in Carthage, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant, check into the legendary Boots Court Motel, and spend the evening enjoying a movie under the stars at the historic 66 Drive-In Theatre. But as the movie plays, severe weather begins moving into the area. With storms intensifying and a tornado warning issued for Carthage, we leave the drive-in and race back to Boots Court Motel, where we take shelter underground as the storm approaches. Join me as we continue our journey down America's most iconic highway, exploring the history, landmarks, and unexpected moments that make Route 66 an adventure unlike any other. 📍 Featured in this video: • St. Robert, Missouri • Waynesville, Missouri • Historic Roubidoux Creek Bridge • Marshfield Hubble Space Telescope Replica • Carthage, Missouri • Boots Court Motel • 66 Drive-In Theatre • Severe Weather & Tornado Warning If you enjoy these quiet Route 66 drives, subscribing helps this channel grow. 🛍️ Merchandise: https://kensroute66.printful.me/ ☕ Support the channel: https://buymeacoffee.com/kensroute66 #Route66 #HistoricRoute66 #MissouriRoute66 #BootsCourt #CarthageMO #WaynesvilleMO #MotherRoad #RoadTrip #66DriveIn #Route66Adventure
