Route 66’s Final Miles Of Missouri Into St. Louis

Day 3 of this 6-part Route 66 road trip takes to the far side of Missouri along one of the most historic stretches of the Mother Road. A rainy morning in Cuba, Missouri kicked off another unforgettable day on Route 66. After waking up at the historic Wagon Wheel Motel, we continued east along America’s Main Street toward some of Missouri’s most iconic Route 66 landmarks. Along the way we stopped at the legendary Red Cedar Inn in Pacific, Missouri before heading into Eureka to explore the Route 66 State Park Visitor Center and the history of the Mother Road in Missouri. From there, the adventure continued to one of the most famous Route 66 crossings anywhere — the historic Chain of Rocks Bridge. We walked out over the Mississippi River and experienced one of the most unique bridges on all of Route 66. To end the day, we checked into our hotel near St. Louis, rode the train into downtown, and watched the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Seattle Mariners at Busch Stadium. From rainy Route 66 roads to historic landmarks and a night at the ballpark, this was one incredible day on the Mother Road.
