ALFANO Symphony N 2 Francesco Mander
FRANCO ALFANO (1875 – 1954) was an Italian composer, mainly known for having finished Puccini’s opera Turandot. The performance of his second symphony, written in 1933 and here conducted by Francesco Mander, is part of a recording session held at the Fenice Theatre in Venice on June 9th 1957. The three movements are: 1. Allegro 2. Largo 3. Solenne – Allegro alla Marcia – Pomposa.
