BANDA ISLANDS, INDONESIA - PT 1: SNORKELLING, FISHING, AND A LOCAL WEDDING ON HATTA - VLOG#11

Banda Islands—an incredible archipelago in Maluku, Indonesia that many travellers have never even heard of. Not only is it far away from the usual places in the country that are frequented by tourists, but it's a bit confusing and time-consuming to get to. After a flight and a long ride on the Pelni ferry, we arrived at the main island of Banda, called Banda Neira. We checked into Vita Guesthouse for the night and arranged a chartered boat for the next morning to take us to Hatta Island. Hatta is absolutely beautiful, with a sandy beach and a coral reef only meters away from the shore. We spend our days snorkelling and also join our guesthouse owner on his daily fishing trip—three attempts later and we caught a Wahoo fish! To finish off our time on Hatta, we attended our first local wedding of the trip. It was a completely unique experience and we really enjoyed being a part of it. The weather, however, took a turn for the worse and we decided it was time to move on to the next island of Banda.
