BANDA ISLANDS, INDONESIA - PT 3: SNORKELLING ON AI ISLAND AND CLIMBING API VOLCANO - VLOG#13

Banda Islands—an incredible archipelago in Maluku, Indonesia that many travellers have never even heard of. Not only is it far away from the usual destinations in Indonesia that are frequented by tourists, but it's also a bit confusing and time-consuming to get to. In this vlog, we continue on from Part 2 and head to Ai Island where we stay at Green Coconut Guesthouse. We snorkel the pristine reefs and go on some walks to explore the nutmeg plantations and the old fort. From there we take a boat back to the main island of the archipelago, Banda Neira. Here there is wifi, a couple restaurants, market, and another fort. Our main reason for spending time on Banda Neira and the last thing we planned to do while in Banda was to hike Api volcano, located just 5-minute boat ride away. The climb is humid and hard at times, but the incredible view of all the islands makes it worth it. Our month in Banda came to an end far too quickly and we made our way to the port to catch our Pelni ferry and start our long journey back to Ambon and then Jakarta.
