Nicolas Vallet – a 4 Luths: Casulana Lute Consort

Nicolas Vallet (um 1583 – nach 1642), à 4 Luths: Un jour de la semaine Est-ce Mars & Courante de Mars Ballet Gaillarde The Casulana Lute Consort is an Early Music ensemble based in Basel, Switzerland. The members met at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and share the vision to revitalize lute consort music. Their repertoire ranges from Renaissance to early baroque music, and includes compositions by the lutenist, Madalena Casulana. She is the first female composer known today to have had her music published, and the consort is named after her. The Consort’s debut video with lute quartets by Nicolas Vallet was commissioned by the German Lute Society.
