Let's get down to business! At the end of episode 10, I asked you: where to begin? The mechanics or the body? The decision is made: we're tackling the Dauphine's structure. The goal is clear: to restore the bodywork so we can put it back on its wheels and move it more easily to the basement. On the agenda for this episode: The diagnosis: I identify and cut out all the areas where the rust is penetrating. This is the moment when we remove the excess "pieces." The shaping: I mold the new sheet metal so that it perfectly matches the original contours. The welding: We tack weld, we weld, we restore rigidity to this 1961 classic. I won't lie to you, it's a colossal job. I only managed to do half of the affected areas, because each piece takes more time than an amateur could handle.
