There’s a lot more to say about the run itself, such as its background and the routes it uses, which I’ve put in the actual description of the uncommentated video. Seeing as I don’t really have editing experience or much of a budget, I had to use the microphone that existed in my headphones. At the time, I actually had no idea that it was located there, so it was just laying on my desk, nowhere near my mouth. I also recorded the commentary in mostly one take, since I didn’t want to start hating it due to too much repetition. As a result, several parts are hard to understand, so I’ve added the entire transcript as subtitles to the video. This is my first time trying out a video like this. I’ve always loved seeing other speedrunners do post-commentary when I’m unfamiliar with a game, so I can quickly learn about all the various glitches and tricks. Some of those people are able to improvise really good explanations, but I feared that if I did the same, I would leave out too much or stumble over my words a lot. As a result, this commentary is heavily scripted, and it took a very long time to fully write out. I started scripting very early on, slowly figuring out what to say and when to say it. The savewarping part during L2 and L3 took me the longest to figure out, since I had so many different ways to explain it, and not enough space for it anywhere. Although there were a few points in this run where there wasn’t much to say, like during L3. I didn’t want to make the explanation more fragmented than it already was though, and I didn’t want to have long stretches of silence either. So instead I decided to just talk about the gameplay for a bit, which L3 happened to lend itself pretty well for. I had hoped to finish this video earlier, since I achieved my time ten days ago. I didn’t want to finalize my commentary before I had the footage of the actual run, since I needed to make sure everything flowed well. I also didn’t know when I would have the run ready, so when I did, there was a lot more to finish up than I thought. I didn’t want to needlessly rush anything though (except the recording process I guess haha) so I took my time writing out everything and making small changes until I felt that there was pretty much nothing left to improve. In the end, I feel like I’ve said everything I wanted to say, and that all the individual parts flow well into each other. Despite the less than ideal audio quality, I’m very satisfied with this video, it’s probably the best voice reveal I could’ve wished for. I’ll be making a few more commentated videos in the future, with no intentions to surpass this one. 0:00 intro, first room breakdown 2:24 cutscene walk, savewarp part 1 4:28 more cutscene walk 5:23 savewarp part 2, featuring cutscene storage 8:08 gameplay 9:46 savewarp part 3 10:39 level 4 routes, featuring lava 12:44 center warp platform displacement 14:05 outro
