11 Aerial Lyra Split Combos to The Greatest Showman - Beginner to Intermediate I love the Anne Wheeler Costume and I love The Greatest Showman movie, so I decided to wear it for this video. This video was inspired by a class I taught recently, I dedicate this video to the Aerial Lyra students at Kelly's School of Dance in Fort Mill, SC. I wanted to teach easy split moves that you can get in and out of. For someone who is a beginner they may look at split moves and get discouraged. The split moves I picked are easy to get into and out of. You can add all kinds of choreography around it. To make them look even better you need to become more back bendy and over splits. I will do a video with more Intermediate and advanced splits. This is for those who want to learn some beginner/intermediate split moves, or if you want to teach some beginner/intermediate split moves. I did a slow spin so you can see what I am doing. I don't like when an Aerialist are spinning so fast I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to get into a move. I emphasize the moves as well. 1. Aerial Lyra Definitions: The Lyra is like a clock, the top where the spanset is, is 12 o'clock, then going to the left is 1 o'clock, 2 o'clock, 3 o'clock and so on all the way around to 11 o'clock. You know where to position your hands and feet by knowing where it is on the clock. Example) 1 o'clock and 11 o'clock is where you place your hands going into a double knee hock on the top bar.
