Today we set out to find one abandoned cabin hidden deep in the backcountry of Vancouver Island… but somehow ended up discovering THREE. What started as a simple day exploring forest service roads quickly turned into a full-blown adventure involving swamp crossings, abandoned structures, steep mountain roads, incredible views, and some of the strangest cabins we’ve ever come across. From a converted bus hidden in the woods to remote backcountry shelters that look frozen in time, this was one of those days that reminded us why we love exploring old logging roads and forgotten places across Vancouver Island.
