Your Pelvic Floor Isn't Weak — It's Gripping | SHIFT Episode 12

Because most women are told their pelvic floor is weak. Do more kegels. Squeeze harder. Strengthen it. But what if that's the wrong problem? Here's what was happening to me personally. I was leaking when I sneezed. Running to the bathroom constantly. The bloating was making me feel like I had no room inside. And like most women, I assumed my pelvic floor must be weak. So I squeezed. I did kegels every single day. Faithfully. And nothing got better. If anything — it felt worse. Because here's what I didn't understand at the time. I wasn't gripping because I was weak. I was gripping because I was tense. Years of dance training. Years of holding everything together. Years of stress living right there — in that part of my body — without me even knowing it.
