2025 - Rail Baltica in Latvia reaches the active construction on the main route (no voice over)

For the Rail Baltica project, 2025 marked the transition from planning to active construction on the main route and strengthened the European Union’s financial support for the further implementation of the project. The construction of the main route on the priority southern section was launched, while construction works on the Riga Central Station and Riga Airport Station continued. In accordance with the scope of the first phase of the project, VAS “Latvijas dzelzceļš” is actively involved in the creation of a connection between Imanta Station and Riga Airport. In parallel, intensive work is underway to optimize the costs of construction works and attract alternative sources of financing.
