Homestead Wisdom: Stress Creates Growth

There is so much wisdom to be gained from observing nature. Our aloe vera plants seem to do best when we neglect them. Neglect, causes these resilient plants to grow roots in search of water. For people, times of stress, can lead to growth. The aloe vera pups in this video came from a mother plant or plants. There comes the time when parents need to “cut the cord” with their children. There comes a time when trainers need to let their trainees go. There comes a time when mentors need to let the people they pour into, go off on their own, and carve out their own existence. People, just like plants, can grow better when they are challenged, but not starved. Gardeners often like to be hands-on and try to control as much as they can. This can lead to overwatering, pruning too much, and weeding too much. Sometimes it’s best to just let go, and let nature do what it does best; survive.
