Foraging Basics - There’s Food Everywhere!
Foraging is a worthwhile study. When foraging, try to avoid areas with lots of toxins. Always wash everything you eat. The reality is, you are always taking a risk when you are foraging, but with a combination of plant identifier apps, your own knowledge, and books, you can do a pretty good job of accurately identifying plants. Now that I’ve been gardening for a long time, and learning about foraging, I am more aware of how diverse native vegetation really is. Foraging gives you the opportunity to practice an important prepping skill, helps you to be more self-sufficient, and can lower your grocery bills. BONUS: You can forage plants that are very nutritious, and medicinal as well. Preppers, as in people who focus on emergency preparedness, should definitely learn how to forage.
