Mi velo, mi decisión | Fatima Ezzahra | TEDxGalicia

From her advocacy for the freedom to wear the veil, Fatima asserts her Muslim identity and her status as a woman. To this end, she seeks to break down stereotypes that have taken root in society, largely due to misinformation and a lack of understanding. Fatima has lived in Galicia for over 10 years. At 18, she decided to wear the veil, a decision that caused a great deal of friction among those closest to her, starting with her own family. To explain and raise awareness about the role of women in Islam, she and other young women manage the Association of Muslim Girls of Galicia.
