Steam in Nepal 2005 - Re-upload

PLEASE NOTE! THIS IS A RE-UPLOAD. The Steam in Nepal 2005 video I uploaded on the 8th January acquired many nasty artefacts during the YT upload/conversion process. This is a DivX version that You Tube seems to prefer. The Nepal Railways Corporation Ltd. operates two railway lines: a 6 km broad gauge line from Raxaul in India to Sirsiya Inland Container Depot in Nepal and a 53 km 762 mm (2 ft 6 in) narrow gauge line from Jaynagar in India to Bijalpura in Nepal. The latter line is composed of two sections: 32 km between Jaynagar and Janakpur and 21 km from Janakpur to Bijalpura. The Janakpur line is used largely for passengers and the Sirsiya (Birganj) line only for cargo freight. This video covers a visit to the Jaynagar -- Janakpur section in December 2005. By this time the line was operated by diesel traction but a steam locomotive was chartered for our visit. The identity of this locomotive has been disputed but on the cab-side there is a builder's plate stating the 0-6-2T was built by the Avonside Engine Company in 1928. The journey to Jaynagar involved overnight in a Hard Class Sleeper to Patna in Bihar State, followed by a twelve hour bus ride over Bihar's very bumpy roads. This video contains shots of the journey including a short break in a tranquil village. The first steam shots appear at about eight minutes into the video. Moaist terrorists were active so we were only allowed to stay one night in Nepal. Our visit coincided with the Sita Vivaha Panchami, a large Hindu festival held here each December. Thousands of pilgrims travel from India and back using this railway, consequently the trains were very overcrowded. Equipment in the locomotive workshops was still overhead belt operated, including the wheel lathe.
