The Modern Polymath | Kaloyan Dimitrov | TEDxYouth@ACSofia
Some of the brightest and most impactful people in history, whose names we remember thousands of years later, did not limit themselves to just one field of study. Instead, they were polymaths, often working in multiple disciplines simultaneously. Our modern world, however, requires a different kind of polymath. Join us on an exploration of what it means to be a modern Renaissance man, and the benefits of cultivating a polymath mindset today. Kaloyan is a student at the American College of Sofia striving to become a modern polymath. As an aspiring engineer with a strong belief in the power of interdisciplinary knowledge, he often draw inspiration from nature; fueled by his passion for chemistry and biology. Adhering to the ideal of the Renaissance man, he balances his academic interests with sports, acting, and being a member of the European Youth Parliament. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
