Episode 67 - A slice of life with family, crafting and a sloth!

25th November 2022 - Thanks for popping by. This week is a chat about a visit from my Aunt Ann, Tommy popping by to say hello and making a fruit cake in my Cosori air-fryer. I show you what I made last week and what I intend making this week, - we'll see if it happens! Hi, I'm Pene and I live in S.E.England with my husband Pete and chickens. After my retirement, working for the NHS as a counsellor, I decided to do Penelope’s Chinwag. It’s a chatty vlog about crafting, a fascinating fact about the natural world, maybe a chat with Mum or Pete (in their own playlist) and a story or poem. In episode 12 I introduced Transactional Analysis, (which is in its own playlist). a model of counselling that is practical and helpful. I finish with a short film usually taken when I’m out walking or from our garden. The films are also in their own playlist. #crafting#baking#family 00:00 Hullo! 04:41 Making a fruit cake 10:26 The sloth, algae, moths and poop 14:59 Hamiltonian 16:31 Socks, knitting wild animal friends, macarons 21:41 Saying goodbye and introducing the film 23:30 Mum, Ann, Tommy and Lois Cake ingredients 500g mixed fruit soaked in brandy or sherry 200g glace cherries teaspoon mixed spice 1/4 teaspoon salt 200g butter and 200g dark brown sugar 1 tablespoon marmalade 2 tablespoons black treacle good teaspoon of vanilla extract 225 plain flour 4 eggs 100g ground almonds (optional) ginger (optional)
