Our Lovable Puppy - Sweety Boot - My Story - Ep. 192

#knitting#familylife#writing#quilting In today's episode, Episode 192, I want to tell you how my memoir came about — and it started with love and loss. When my father in law died, my husband Peter began writing short pieces about his early life as a way of working through his grief. I loved those stories so much, but told him I could never do anything like that — I had nothing to write about. He looked at me and said, of course you have. You've got a life. And so I began. I was born on 8th August 1949 — a boiling hot day — at University College Hospital in London, one of the very first generation of NHS babies, the NHS having only come into being the year before in 1948. In this episode I read Part 36 of My Story — A Glimpse Into My Early Life, and this one is especially for my great granddaughter Mila, who has a new dog and wanted me to tell her about mine. Do you remember Watch with Mother? And the Woodentops' Spotty Dog? Well, that's where it all began — because I knew my family wouldn't be complete without a puppy. And so Sweety Boot arrived. A Dalmatian. A boisterous, sandwich-stealing, pram-dragging, fire-hogging, utterly loveable Dalmatian. I hope you enjoy this one.    • MY STORY - A GLIMPSE INTO MY EARLY YEARS      • PENELOPE'S CHINWAG - EPISODES      • COUNSELLING ADVICE AND TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS      • HOW TO MAKE A QUILT, SOCKS, MACARON PURSE,...      • END FILMS FOR PENELOPE'S CHINWAG EPISODES      • PETER'S STORIES      • Hand Quilting for Beginners: A Step-by-Ste...
