Hello Spring!🌞 In today's yin yoga sequence, we honor the Spring Equinox. This is when we come out of "hibernation" from the winter months and dust off any stagnant energy we may be carrying from the winter season. This practice, is an opportunity for you to honor where you are and how far you've come. An opportunity, to start fresh so that you may put all those dreams and ideas into action. After all, this is our blooming season😉 In TCM, Spring is associated with the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. These meridians are responsible for our bodies detoxification process. This class, will stimulate these lines, both the inner and outer to further help the elimination/detoxification process. #springequinox #yinyoga #springforward For this class I am drinking Mauby. It is a popular Caribbean drink made from the bark of a Mauby tree and it is VERY bitter. After diluting your batch with water you may want to add some honey to taste. Also note, that you can buy the syrup from the store, but this is already mixed with sugar and will need to be diluted with water to get your desired taste. YOU WILL NEED: 1 BLOCK & Something bitter to taste (I'm drinking Mauby) OR if you'd much rather, grab your coffee, tea or coco water and meet me on the mat! Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing. When practicing always remember 1.
