30° Morning, Low 40° Water & Tidal Swamp Fishing… We Had to FORCE FEED Them

Wintertime fishing on the Little Pee Dee River is never easy — and this day proved it. Water temperatures were sitting in the low 40s, tidal water was stacked on top of low water, and even the boat ramp was already a risk. Morning temperatures were right around 30 degrees, finally warming into the mid-40s once the sun came up — and only felt good when you could get out of the wind. This wasn’t a “go out and fill the cooler” kind of day. This was a WORK-FOR-EVERY-BITE kind of day. The Little Pee Dee River swamp holds crappie, bream, and shellcrackers, and even in cold water they still have to eat — sometimes you just have to force feed them, as I like to say. We stayed grinding, adjusting, and pushing through tough conditions, and in the end we caught crappie, bream, and shellcracker — but none of them came easy. This trip was about effort, patience, and refusing to quit when the bite gets tough. Gear absolutely mattered on a day like this: ACC Crappie Stix ACC Copolymer Fishing Line ACC Crappie Stix Legacy 1000 Reels Pops Crappie Jigs (these honestly bailed us out in hard times) More than anything though, this day was about making memories, pushing through winter conditions, and being grateful to be on the water — especially on Christmas Day. 🎄 Merry Christmas to everyone watching. We hope this video fires you up to keep fishing, no matter how cold or tough it gets.
