24 Hours In The Swamp – Survival Catch and Cook Challenge

In this video we take on a 24 hour swamp survival challenge deep in the South Carolina swamp. The rule was simple — whatever we caught fishing would be the only food we were allowed to eat. I picked up my buddy Pepper and we headed into the swamp late in the evening. By the time we reached the landing the sun was already going down, which meant we had to catch our dinner before dark. This quickly turned into a real catch and cook survival adventure. We had to fish the swamp, catch our food, clean the fish in the dark, cook dinner at camp, and then survive the entire night in the swamp before heading back out the next morning. No grocery stores. No backup food. Just fishing, cooking, camping, and surviving in the swamp for 24 hours. This trip turned into one of the most memorable outdoor adventures we’ve had. Between the fishing, the laughs around camp, and a long night in the swamp, this was a challenge we won’t forget. This adventure takes place in the Woodbury Wildlife Management Area swamp along the Little Pee Dee River in South Carolina. The Little Pee Dee River winds through miles of flooded timber, cypress trees, and blackwater swamp before eventually joining the Great Pee Dee River, which then flows southeast across the coastal plain and empties into Winyah Bay near Georgetown, South Carolina. These river systems create some of the most unique swamp fishing and wildlife habitat in the Southeast.
