DISCUSSION: National Credit Amendment bill signed into law
President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed into law the National Credit Amendment bill which contains provisions strongly opposed by the banking industry and the Democratic Alliance. The bill provides for the right off of debt of heavily indebted consumers who earn a monthly income of R7 500 and below. The bill will only cover unsecured debt amounting to R50 000. To discuss this further we are joined from our Pretoria studios by Nthupang Magolego, National Credit Regulator's senior legal advisor. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
