City of Cape Town to fast track processing of around 1500 undocumented immigrants
The City of Cape Town says Zimbabwean nationals gathered outside the Zimbabwean Consulate in District Six, will be relocated to the Department of Home Affairs Repatriation Centre in Epping today. The relocation, which begins this morning, forms part of a joint operation between the City, the Department of Home Affairs and the Zimbabwean Consulate to facilitate voluntary repatriation. The City says all repatriation requests will now be processed at the Epping facility before residents are transported to Beit Bridge. SABC News reporter Vanessa Poonah joins us for more.
