Roseberry Topping: More Than You Think

For most people, Roseberry Topping is simply the hill on the skyline. But there's far more to it than that. People have been coming here for over 8,000 years. Its slopes hold evidence of prehistoric communities, a Bronze Age hoard, Viking connections, hidden industrial history and one of the North East's most recognisable landscapes. Even the dramatic shape we know today hasn't always looked this way. In this film, I explore the history of Roseberry Topping, how it helped shape Teesside, why it has meant so much to generations of local people, and why this remarkable hill continues to matter today. Whether you've climbed Roseberry hundreds of times or have only ever admired it from a distance, I hope you'll come away seeing our hill a little differently.
