But this story cannot be understood without the woman who walks beside him. His life partner is a fundamental part of this household. While he works in the forest and at the charcoal kilns, she maintains the house, cooks over a wood fire, cares for the animals, and supports him in every daily endeavor. Together they face the hardships of rural life with hard work, humility, and a deeply moving dignity. They live with little, but they value what they have. They don't seek material wealth.
