I Made a Memorial Urn from Olive Wood and Resin

This has been one of the most difficult and meaningful projects I’ve ever worked on. This urn was commissioned for a baby boy, Oliver, who sadly passed away at just 5 months old. Olive wood was carefully chosen in honour of his name, with green epoxy resin reflecting the fresh, beautiful colours of spring—the season he was born in. As I turned the piece, the natural grain of the wood met the flowing resin to create something timeless and deeply personal. The urn was then carefully finished with multiple coats of clear gloss lacquer, giving it a smooth, mirror-like shine worthy of such a special tribute.
