Or course, sponsorship will have to be done eventually to fully complete the MU4 but you can definitely start the MU4 process without the sponsorship. In fact, it is best to start the process before you get sponsorship because the fingerprinting and background checks can take a while to complete. So, it is good to get them done early. That way, when you finally secure sponsorship, the company will be able to hire you quickly without having to wait around for your background check and fingerprinting to be completed. #2: I think the best career strategy for newly-licensed MLOs is to talk to the local realtors in your area and ask them if they can help you connect with a local, successful MLO who would be willing to take you on as his or her loan officer assistant. That way, you will learn under a successful MLO and you will be paid a steady income. And then, after about a year or two, you will be fully prepared to venture out into a 100% commission position. And with the awesome experience you gained by working under that successful MLO, you will be able to become a successful MLO too. The MLO career is not as straightforward as some may think. The nature of the work is very complex and so, in order to succeed, you need to find the right mentor. Don't worry about how much the company is going to pay you. Just prioritize securing a super successful MLO to be your mentor. In the long run, you'll end up having a very successful career. Don't chase the money.
