Foncha Junction Roadside Traders Face Eviction as Bamenda III Enforces Move to Ntasen Market

Bamenda III authorities have issued a final warning to traders operating at Foncha Junction to relocate to the newly constructed Ntasen Market. In this video, Divisional Officer Ayuni Austin Sakah, accompanied by officials of the Bamenda III Council, including Deputy Mayor Margaret Ndzelen, carries out a sensitisation campaign aimed at clearing roadside trading activities along one of Bamenda's busiest road corridors. Authorities say the move is intended to improve public safety, restore urban order and encourage the use of the council-built market infrastructure. Traders, however, have raised concerns about security, flooding and business opportunities at the new market site. Watch the Divisional Officer explain why the relocation is necessary, the assurances being given to traders and what could happen after the June 10 deadline.
