This Is a Hard Saying | Father Turbo's Homily | 04 May 26

Father Turbo preaches on John 6:66, one of the Gospel's most scandalous moments. Christ reveals to His disciples that they must eat His flesh and drink His blood, and many of them walk away. Because it is a hard saying. But this homily delves deeper than just this controversy. Man's the bridge between the heavens and earth. He's created, and he must receive. He must take in and consume. God alone stands uncreated. God alone needs nothing. The fall didn't invent consuming; it twisted it. Christ redeems it by offering Himself as food so that the humility of human need becomes the intimacy of divine union. Even following His Resurrection, Christ ate honeycomb and fish. We are desperate for God. And for this, He has given Himself to us.
