Diving a Mysterious Hole on the Ocean Floor

SAFETY NOTE: DO NOT free dive immediately after scuba. I was unaware of this danger on the day when I jumped back in to film the amberjack (12:20). Even at shallow depths, there is still significant risk. This was a mistake that I will not be repeating. When my friend Joe pitched the idea of exploring some ancient springs offshore Florida's Gulf coast, I jumped at the chance. We had to work with some tough conditions, but were able to explore a large hole about 20 miles offshore and a bonus sunken barge. A huge thank you to Joe for captaining and showing me these unique marine environments and also to Joe's friend Johnny who let us borrow his boat for the day. There are a variety of offshore "springs" in the Gulf, so let me know if you liked the video as we may try to explore more of these in the future! Hopefully with more favorable conditions.
