Building a Mini Cajon Drum for Kids

In this video I demonstrate how I built a homemade miniature round Cajón drum. I built this as a gift to give to my 10 month old nephew, but it turned out to be a very playable fun instrument for people of all ages. Hear the instrument in action:    • Frosty the Snowman - Homemade Instruments ...   The instrument measures approximately 20cm (8 inches) in diameter. The two striking surfaces (tapas) are 1.5mm (1/16") birch plywood. The sides are made out of segments cut from laminated pine boards. The tapas are fastened to them using countersunk drywall screws. One of the tapas has a snare behind it, which I bought from a local music store. If you build something similar, I'd love to hear about it. I hope you enjoyed this video.
