We’ve been preparing for a trip to New York, and as the departure date approached, the small details started to take shape — travel-size toiletries, a portable steamer, and all of the little things that make a trip feel considered. We’ll be staying with my friend Karen, one of my college roommates. Naturally, I began thinking about perfume for her. It’s something I can’t help doing. I knew she’s worn everything from spicy ambers to florals, and when she mentioned she had run out of her tuberose fragrances, it felt like the perfect opportunity to introduce her to something new.
