It's not just liberal-conservative voices that criticize this modern monetary policy; left-wing theorists also have significant doubts about its premises and, above all, its effectiveness. While MMT has become widely known thanks to Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it still occupies a marginal position in mainstream economic discourse. But what exactly do critics say about MMT? Some doubt that it can truly revolutionize the economic system. They warn against viewing this new form of monetary policy as a panacea that resolves the contradictions of capitalism.
