Indescribably dreamlike overnight stay at 1380 m | Hike to the source of the Elbe | snowstorm At the beginning of April I had a free time window of almost 3 days / 2 nights and every minute I thought about which region I would like to go to, the thought came to me: Elbquelle, Czech Republic. And so I let my feelings guide me and drove to the Krkonoše Mountains after work on a Friday. It was a day full of stones thrown in my way. Apart from the fact that I had spent the day before in bed with migraines, nausea and total weakness and it didn't look like I would be able to travel (and hike), I had to take my car to the workshop for an oil change early on the day of departure. There I waited about 1 hour for my car. Then I was told that a coolant hose was defective and that I shouldn't drive a long distance under any circumstances. - Again it seemed like I had to skip my little adventure. I begged the mechanic to find a solution. He ordered the hose, which was then on site from 2 p.m. In between I worked and then drove back to the workshop at 3 p.m., waited another hour for my repaired car and was then able to start my journey to the Giant Mountains at around 5 p.m. At that point I was already so happy that I could drive, although I had absolutely no idea what to expect. This tour surprised me so much! It was just terrific. From spring back to winter... totally unexpected. It was wonderful to be out and about for more than one night. You are even more in the here and now, and only the moment counts. I hope I was able to capture the atmosphere and dive into another world with me for a short time. I look forward to your comments! It would be nice if you could give me some feedback on the sound quality as I still find it a difficult task to give the pictures a decent sound. The storm was an added difficulty here and I'm glad that my recordings weren't completely ruined by the wind noise. - At least I hope you feel that way.
