Touring Ryan’s PRODUCTIVE Agroforestry Systems Outside Tampa! (Part 2)
Welcome back to The Green Yard! Today we’re continuing our Food Forest Florida tour series just outside Tampa with Part 2 of Ryan’s incredible property. In this video, Ryan takes us through the larger production areas of his landscape where he combines agroforestry principles, support species, biomass production, and grocery row gardens to create productive food systems designed for long-term abundance. Throughout the tour we explore a variety of concepts including nitrogen-fixing trees, chop-and-drop systems, Mombasa grass, Mexican sunflower, grocery row gardens, avocado production, bananas, support species, and other plants that work together to build soil, recycle nutrients, and support food production. We also explore Ryan’s grocery row garden concept, where productive crops are intentionally planted together in systems designed to maximize harvests and biomass production. While Part 1 ( • Touring Ryan’s SECRET GARDEN Outside Tampa... ) explored Ryan’s tropical “Secret Garden,” Part 2 focuses on the systems and strategies that help make abundance possible.
